Gurgaon has the hardest water in NCR and the heaviest tanker dependence. Both of those shorten the interval at which a tank stays acceptable.
Hard water is the defining feature
Gurgaon groundwater carries high calcium and magnesium, which precipitate out as chalky scale on every surface the water touches. Scale is worse than it looks: it is porous, so it gives bacteria and biofilm a textured surface to anchor into, and it bonds progressively harder the longer it is left.
A Gurgaon tank cleaned every four months lifts its scale under a jet. The same tank at two years needs mechanised descaling — which is why rates here run above Delhi rates for identical capacity.
Tanker water
Large parts of Gurgaon — particularly newer sectors and the Dwarka Expressway belt — run on tanker supply for at least part of the year. Tanker water carries visible suspended solids, and the tanker’s own cleanliness is unverifiable. Properties on tanker supply should be on a four-month interval minimum, with the underground reservoir treated as the priority asset.
Condominium scheduling
DLF phases and the newer condominium belt run large underground reservoirs feeding terrace tanks. Same logic as Noida towers: UGR first, terrace tanks after, staged across blocks so no tower is dry during the day, with the AOA or facility manager coordinating notice.
